Amber Phelps Bonaroff
Amber Phelps Bondaroff (she/they) is an interdisciplinary artist, performer, musician, arts organizer, yoga teacher, mother and settler living on Treaty 4 Territory (Regina) since 2012. Amber has been a member of the extended Hammock family since 2010, when they met Heidi on a porch in Portland OR, and immediately felt a spark of creative connection. Since then, Amber has participated in various Hammock happenings, both remotely and IRL, including sitting on the Center-Centre advisory committee, assisting in the development of a best-practices guide for Artist-Run Centres across Turtle Island.
Since 2021, Amber has been involved in a joint research project through the Universities of Regina and Saskatchewan, sharing and nurturing creative practices to support people living with dementia and their care-partners.
Amber held the role of Programming Director at Neutral Ground, Artist-Run Centre from 2017-2023 and is a co-founder and co-artistic director of Swamp Fest – a community music and arts festival based in Regina.
Amber received an MFA in Intermedia Arts from the University of Regina, in 2014 and a BFA in interdisciplinary fine arts from NSCAD University, Halifax in 2007. They are currently working towards a certificate in yoga therapy, with the goal of serving their community, and finding ever more authentic ways of being in the world.
