r e p i e c i n g brings together new works created by the 2024 Hammock Residency artists-in-residence, Kerri Flannigan, Jason Young, Jijii Buck, Marita Michealis, and sophia bartholomew, alongside an installation and performance by Heidi Nagtegaal activating the Hammock Residency archives.

Works in the exhibition explore themes of fragmentation and renewal, including fragmentary cultural and familial inheritances, fragmentary experiences of grief and mental illness, and the increasingly fragmentary character of our shared public/social sphere.

In this moment of heightened volatility and accelerated change, the artists put forward humour, storytelling, poetry and play as ways of putting things back together after everything’s fallen apart.
